I have just been doorstepped by an enthusiastic bumptious Conservative canvasser, knocking me up and reminding me to vote, and asking me if I have voted and for whom. He already knew my name but obviously hadn’t even noticed the “Vote Conservative” poster in my window.

I didn’t recognise him; I think he said he was from Streatham

Declaration was about 4am (much earlier than expected). I think the different venue was better and somehow worked more efficiently.

I always thought that Chris Philp would win, but about 2 days ago I began to have doubts because of the patterns I saw in the postal votes over the last 2 weeks - it reminded me of the patterns we have seen in previous elections in Croydon Central (i.e. not good enough to win).
