Neil Hudson MP picked as Conservative candidate - likely a beneficiary of having been defeated in the selection for his much more vulnerable successor seat of Penrith and Solway.

Neil Hudson MP picked as Conservative candidate - likely a beneficiary of having been defeated in the selection for his much more vulnerable successor seat of Penrith and Solway. I remember Neil Hudson from the Hustings for Edinburgh South in 2010. Appreciating a lot can have changed in 14 years, but I wonder how good a fit he is for the current Conservative party and for this seat. |

That is a surprising omission. Shared Ground appears to be the Young People's Party rebranded while the Independent, Ed Pond seems to be SDP-ish in inclination

Don't know if there was a problem with nomination pack or whatever, but in the absence of a candidate I would happily vote for Ed Pond if I lived there. |

If the Tories are down to 20 seats, I'm fairly sure this and neighbouring Broxbourne will be two of them.
