Attractive Labour (woman) candidate here.
It must be difficult for Labour to know which areas to focus on in Northamptonshire.
Northampton North definite gain on new boundaries, Corby almost certain as well. South Northants and Daventry still no hopers but everything else a possibility if polls are correct.

So the Wrighting could be on the wall for the Tories, ho ho.

One of the few seats where I would probably still vote Tory.

By my count the second furthest down the target list of the seats he has visited: Reading West and Mid Berks just pipping here.

Starmer visited the Buccleuch academy. Red team members may like to know that my brother has just sent me a picture of my nephew posing with aforesaid Labour leader.
I shall immediately delete the picture and then dispatch my phone for an exorcism π.

The Greens got almost 14% here - by some way their highest in the East Midlands. A friend had mentioned to me a couple of days before polling day that he had seen numerous Green poster boards here (from the train I think) which I thought strange. What was the deal here? Just a popular local candidate or some kind of local issue?

I have just had to double take on this - I wonder if the "perceived" overdevelopment in the area (the town has expanded hugely and has basically merged with Corby now) has played a role in the increasing Green share. Reform took a chunk (Hollobone being a die hard Brexiteer and firmly on the right of the party so I am surprised that vote wasn't suppressed) and the rest of his vote just fled? I bet he thought he had a job for another 20 years.

11% is the increase. I gather housing development is an issue, but then it's hardly unique to Kettering

It isn't but the three East Northants towns are basically a single conurbation these days. It stretches from Irchester through to Rockingham along the A6/6003 and the Midland Main Line.

7,004 votes, 13.9%.
The Greens won all three councillors by a large margin in Clover Hill in 2021 and have been looking to build on this since. Emily Fedorowycz leads the Green group and was the candidate here. Primarily down to being a visible and active local councillor and using the GE to work towards next years Unitary elections but definitely at the higher end of expectation.

and yet despite such a large Green vote Labour won by plenty more than in either 1997 or 2001. Perhaps the expansion of Kettering as a town has helped in that; I wasn't aware that it had been that great an expansion

Perhaps the expansion of Kettering as a town has helped in that; I wasn't aware that it had been that great an expansion It has has sprawled. But, like a lot of places the town centre and surrounds are basically a hollow shell. On the morning after the referendum the BBC had a live feed from The Rising Sun pub in the town...

I thought it'd flip. Ket(tering)'s rebellion. Wickstead Park is nice and Kettering is a nicer town than Wellingborough, but everywhere is nicer than Wellingborough.
