Mentioned potential candidates
Mr Coppard is standing for re-election as Labour's candidate. Doncaster councillor Nick Allen, who represents Bessacarr ward, has been selected as the Conservative candidate. Hannah Kitching, a Liberal Democrat councillor in Barnsley's Penistone West, is also in the running. Douglas Johnson will stand as the Green Party candidate. He is currently leader of the party's group on Sheffield Council, where he represents City ward.
Other candidates may be announced before nominations close at 16:00 on Friday 5 April.
