Fieldwork completed mid August. With Imran Kahn out of the race you must be confident of picking up a lot of his supporters. Then only have to get a few more votes to get over 50% and have it in the bag.

Almost certainly a voodoo poll, however "conclusive" the result.

List of candidates by number of mentions in the Wikipedia article on the election, as at midday on 21 October 2024: 5 Pethiyagoda 5* Hague 5* Willetts 5* Mandelson 4 Grieve 4 Bruce 3 Casely-Hayford 2 Angiolini 2 Royall 2 Kay 2 Stratton 1 Aftab 1 Ahmad 1 Ammora 1 Baig 1 Bhandari 1 Bhangal 1 Callaghan 1 Catlin 1 Connor 1 Dandy 1 Farooqi 1 Firth 1 Heiming 1 Ivatts 1 Miake-Lye 1 Moxham 1 Shaikh 1 Parr-Reid 1 Pasha 1 Rauf 1 Shah 1 Shapoo 1 Tajik 1 Tarvadi 1 Vladovici Poplauschi 1 Wang Notes: - Counts are of the number of times a candidate's surname appears in the article, including any captions and the "Notes" section, but excluding occasions when an appearance of the name was entirely coincidental, obviously having no intended reference to that particular candidate.
- Three candidates are life peers whose titles use their surnames. In these cases, a reference specifically to their title has been included in the count, but with an asterisk to indicate this fact.
- Where more than one candidate's name has been counted the same number of times, ones with asterisked counts have been listed after ones with no asterisk, with other tie-breaks using the order of the candidate lists in the article.
- Care was taken, where candidates have compound surnames, to ensure that no reference to a candidate was missed from the count because it used only one part of the surname. In fact, no cases were found where this seemed to have happened.

I had hoped that the one-man hijacking of a thread would have been curtailed after the last time 🙄

I alerted the creator of that Wikipedia webpage, with whom I am working on other projects, and he has corrected accordingly. The original (mis)information was from The Times, apparently.

Almost certainly a voodoo poll, however "conclusive" the result. François Duvalier would think this was a bit too much like voodoo polling for his tastes.

Can we have a poll along the lines of "what vanity project will sanders embrace next?"

As an aside, and I do apologise for derailing the thread, but François Duvalier is one of the most interesting dictators I have ever come across. His role as a doctor pre-presidency is also fascinating.
