This thread makes me regret that I cocked up my application to Trinity College, Oxford for PPE. Back then you needed three references for Oxford but they would actually accept two. I assumed that one reference plus the one on the UCCA form would suffice. Sadly it would not. I received a very nice personal letter from the Admissions Tutor at Trinity explaining why they could not continue with my application.
I subsequently was offered a place at Manchester, although I briefly considered deferring study and applying again the year after. In the end I took the place at Owens and got on with things. That decision did stop me having a vote in this election.

I would go for Imran Khan or - Maxine Parr myself I'd he's ineligible, very onteresting to hear a clampdown on dissident views would be a vote winner for you. Has sanders transitioned!? I thought the typo meant that Ian Huntley’s ex was running.

You can't correct a typo in a university essay or job application after the deadline, so why would changing this be allowed? It is being published and most publications are edited to remove typos. A very very big and annoying problem, at least in science, is that copy editors tend to introduce more typos than they remove.

Let’s get a poll on here.

I don’t think a poll on here will end well for you.
Also most of us don’t really give a shit.

Internal polling has been good, actually. I’m proud of my campaign. You were also quite confident of success in Islington a few months back and we saw how that went. You link to your twitter account, not a single one of your posts is getting any engagement and you only have 240 followers. You’re talking into an empty void. What internal polling have you commissioned or are you relying on polls on social media - if so that’s not polling. You are not remotely qualified for this role and the fact Oxford have let you and other crackpots/attention seekers stand is frankly bizarre.

You have to start somewhere. I’ll take no lectures. When you ran for Council, several people on here offered you advice, the main one was join a party and learn how to campaign. You’ve done the first part. Have you done anything with the Greens? There are lots of people out there (and on here) who know how to campaign. All evidence to date shows you don’t (yet) know how to. You say everyone has to start somewhere. But somewhere isn’t the Chancellorship of Oxford. Also, what are you aiming for in the end just winning an election? [/quote] You’ve established yourself as a tutor and had some luck with shares, yes well done but if this were a normal role with an interview, based on your CV/Statement/experience to date you wouldn’t even get an interview. Fairly sure the Greens wanted a second referendum. What you don’t know is that I never supported a second referendum, but anyway. They are imminently more qualified, experienced and measured than you. They have experience at the highest level of government, with an huge range of senior stakeholders and working internationally, you can’t even get an online forum to take you seriously. So? Are you suggesting as Chancellor you’ll fundraise enough to cut the debt of students? If so you might be amazed at how much that will cost. You mention in your statement that you’ve fundraised for charities, I think you’ll find a University especially Oxford require fundraising on a completely different scale to what you’ve done. Are you seriously suggesting you can secure six, seven figure sums? How can you? I’ve looked you up on LinkedIn, you’ve been a self employed tutor for five years and bar that have had short term contracts some of just a few weeks. I’m really not trying to by nasty, but you are walking right into this. During your council campaign I suggested you should stop what you were doing, clear your head and come back in a few days time. Can I suggest you do the same here?

Not fundraise to pay it off. Lobby the government to change things. Surely you see why that matters. Maybe you went to university for free. Well I didn’t. And the system isn’t sustainable.
I’m not going anywhere. The election is on the 28th. I’m fighting to win.

I paid fees, albeit at a lower rate and cleared the last few k of my loan in covid using the ‘extra’ cash I’d saved during lockdown.
If you’re proposing to lobby the government to abolish/reduce fees and/or introduce grants, I see utterly no evidence of your ability to lobby/engage/discuss sensibly.
Regardless of fees, the Chancellor of Oxford will be involved in fundraising on a significant scale. I refer you to my earlier comments.
I’m also not going to post on this thread anymore. I don’t wish Sanders ill, but I don’t wish him well in this campaign. But in life I bear no grudge to him.

I haven't done anything for the Greens because they haven't selected me as a candidate yet. I might apply for Junction for the by-election or Highgate ward for 2026.
As for 'short placements', they're internships.

If you are expecting to sit around doing nothing until the Green Party approach you and ask you to stand in a winnable seat, I fear you will be disappointed.

Two likes on this tweet now, stupendous momentum. Knickers to the pessimists. We're getting a socialist chancellor.
