I am rather surprised, given andrewteale 's ability to pick up on historical trivia, that (assuming that his ward map is correct - something I have no reason to question) he failed to make any mention of Four Marks and Medstead's most famous (now very) former resident, even allowing for the fact that the village she lived in makes no appearance in the ward's name.

Perhaps he needed a bit of persuasion. It is a truth universally acknowledged that profile writers are not perfect.

I spent most of last weekend trying to sort my house out for major building work while also having to put together the Parliamentary previews. Sadly, the research time for Four Marks and Medstead was quite a long way down the priority list.

Unusual of you not to know this. The village of Chawton was the home of Jane Austen.

The correct response to Andrew's previews is always 'thank-you very much for taking the time and effort in putting these together, and providing us with more enlightenment than we had before'.

Not at all, that was valuable feedback. And even if I didn't agree with the feedback it shows me that somebody read the thing. When the 2024 book comes out, an Austen reference will magically appear in the edit and no-one will be any the wiser...

I don't think Andrew needed much persuasion
