I am having a clear out. I have two videos made by the BBC of election night highlights. One for 1997 and one for 2001.
I also have a set of DVDs that were copied from a video that was recorded live in 1997 and lasts about 8 hours.
I have a few books too, about those election nights, including Were you still up for Portillo?.
All free to a good home.
If anyone wants any or all, please let me know. You can just pay for the postage.

one or two of the books might be of interest. How many of those do you have altogether?

Didn't know there even was a 2001 highlights compilation from the BBC, is it any less unexciting than the real thing?

Worst election night ever Mandelson aside - it certainly was a dull one. I was also very disappointed by the omission of Arthur (the BBC theme tune)!

Peter Mandelsons victory speech on a loop maybe.. Worst election night ever Mandelson aside - it certainly was a dull one. I was also very disappointed by the omission of Arthur (the BBC theme tune)! Hague's interrogation on Question Time during the campaign was quite something though. It included an audience member ranting that Keith Vaz needed to be deported. When Corbyn and May did a similar format in 2017 I don't think the audience/s were quite as boisterous. Perhaps political interest was more confined to the nutters in the duller times of 2001.

If anyone ever finds a recording of the 1995 locals, I will pay them good money as a reward

If anyone ever finds a recording of the 1995 locals, I will pay them good money as a reward I'd be more interested in the 1993 locals as I am sure I saw a clip of them where Peter Snow did his House of Commons projection based on the local national projected vote share and was roundly dismissed by all and sundry, even though in 1997, that forecast had the ring of truth. With regard to the actual topic, I bought the BBC's 1997 election edited highlights and ITN's 2001 election edited highlights and to be honest, an election is one of the few things that can not be edited to produce highlights
