Interesting, I didn't realise that he'd actually come second on the first round in 2012.

Interesting, I didn't realise that he'd actually come second on the first round in 2012. Although only by 13 votes!

This will be an interesting race as Townsend is not the most popular PCC, my instinct is that given the voting for Surrey's councils and the trends away from the Tories in areas such as Mole Valley, Tandridge, Surrey Heath and Runnymede, we could be in with a good chance of winning

Her only tangible action seems to have been to increase the PCC PR team from two to four.

Your forgetting that an "Independent" (Zero tolerance to crime blah blah) candidate won here in 2012. That should be an option in the poll above, as it is still a possibility.

Pity Epsom and Ewell isn't having elections this year, but it does say a great deal about the electoral appeal of the Residents' Associations in suburban north Surrey. Possible the rural east and south Surrey Residents' Associations may be slightly different.

I think another factor is that voters think the C are a more suitable party for law 'n' order issues.

Of which the latter feels like extension of areas like Surbiton, Coombe and Richmond Park whereas Epsom and Ewell as an area feels more similar to outer suburban South London.
