Has there been any confirmation Steve Rotheram will run for re-election here yet?

Has there been any confirmation Steve Rotheram will run for re-election here yet? I expect he'll want to hang on to see bus franchising in place, whether or not Knowsley Council like how it's funded. I wish he would stop the awful American practice of his press office referring to him as Mayor Rotheram, which the local media now do as well.

So the Liverpool Conservative Party could draft a famous footballer and bring their vast war chest to the fore from when they used to run the show here. As a sidebar, didn’t they actually ‘win’ Liverpool, Garston in the 1999 European elections? In all seriousness, an easy Labour hold here.

I don't have the numbers to hand but IIRC they were in the high 20s and Labour in the low 30s. Turnout was dismally low and must have been neglible in Netherley, Speke etc with the Conservatives presumably carrying Woolton and being at least close in one or two of the other middle class wards (the seat included Grassendale then as well as Allerton and Woolton). I guess that would have been the last occasion they carried any ward in Liverpool

We're still waiting for the Tyne and Wear metropolitan boroughs to appear, and for Rushmoor district to move to its correct region, since we have your attention.
