Mass immigration has ensured this is our politics now. People who have little connection with these islands, are far more concerned with their own homelands and many will vote accordingly. Hang on. Whatever the merits of being so, why are *you* allowed to be so concerned with foreign policy, but not a British Pakistani in Bordesley? Hmm Also, the council ward I live in is just over 50% Muslim. When our branch knocks doors do you hear about Gaza- yes. But not just from Muslims.. And from everybody do you hear the same issues of inflation, rubbish on the street, school places, congestion and clean air zones, and a general distaste for the current government, that you get in Tamworth or Northfield - yes. Take off the great replacement tin foil. I recall a local election campaign when I was still living in Rushey Mead in Leicester in 1985. This was less than a year after Indira Gandhi sent the troops into the Golden Temple to clear out Sikh separatists. Labour had a Sikh candidate in a ward that was probably over 70% Asian with most Hindu but many Sikhs and some Muslims. We had talked the candidate, Baljit Singh, into standing. There was no backlash from the Hindus or Moslems in the election and he won very convincingly. The only antagonism on the Rushey Mead estate was reserved for the Conservative candidate from local kids.

Take off the great replacement tin foil. I am very concerned about foreign policy, yes, but it doesn't determine my vote in local or Holyrood elections. Education, health, crime, drugs deaths, local issues, transport around the predominantly rural region I live in, outside Dundee, do. People who vote on foreign policy issues on these votes because it's the centre of their political world have to ask themselves some serious questions. WE have to ask some serious questions of OURSELVES too. Just why is it that so many Muslim communities do not see this country as their proper home? Why is the Ummah such a pull and how can we ensure that our vision of secular citizenship triumphing over religious affiliation gets adopted more widely? These are things I am seriously concerned about, long have been, as I see the fracturing and balkanisation of our society as a serious issue. I make no apology for that for pointing that out. Secondly, concerns I have about immigration are around ability to absorb such vast numbers, 750kish net pa now, and culture. Being concerned about resources and culture does not equal the Great Replacement. Melanin count is irrelevant, stupid and the concern of the short-sighted, the deluded or the nefarious.

Indeed, but I don't think Zionism is relevent in the West Midlands. The number of Jews in Birmingham is very small, though I count a number of them as friends. There are just two synagogues, I think, one orthodox and one "progressive". The number of mosques, however runs into three figures. Do the math, as they say over the pond.

there has never been a large Jewish community in Birmingham and there is not today. If you exclude Sutton Coldfield the community is smaller still. I know one prominent figure in the Birmingham Jewish community but he is an "immigrant" from Manchester.

Politically the Conservative’s had a couple of Jewish councillors historically but I think the last was a Labour member - Barry Henley.

More notably for many years Birmingham had a Jewish Labour MP, Julius Silverman.

Clearly, some are, and they are voters who would overwhelmingly have voted Labour previously. At least this gentleman is honest & doesn't pretend that he cares about anywhere or anyone else, as Galloway usually does. Read the leaflet carefully and you'll find that he also pretends to care about Kashmir.

But how dim do you need to be to vote for a Mayor based purely on their position on something that's happening thousands of miles away? Even an MP can't have much impact on that, let alone a Mayor for one region of the UK. What would he do for the region if he won power? Just talk about Gaza all the time? Ridiculous. Mass immigration has ensured this is our politics now. People who have little connection with these islands, are far more concerned with their own homelands and many will vote accordingly. Coming from someone who has told us several times that his father's German and that he intends to involve himself in German rather than British politics one day. So why is it ok for you and not others?

Yes it has been noted that many Muslim voters care a great deal about Gaza but not so much about Yemen or Syria or Sudan.
It is indeed, as far as it goes, a perfectly fair observation.
But they did also get very exercised about Iraq a generation ago, and "its all about the Jews" isn't really applicable as an explanation for that one.

This is true, but doesn't that simply bring us the conclusion that as long as its Muslims killing Muslims it's fine but no one else should?

So why is it ok for you and not others? I never said that. In response to one of many attacks against me by batman, I said that I would rather involve myself in German politics than British politics but I'd prefer to do neither. That would involve going to Germany, not running some sort of political agitation from here. The analogy is therefore faulty.

Though, whether this still holds true is up in the air. Getting more involved in Scottish or Dundonian/Taysider politics is increasingly attractive all things considered.

Seems there's a Galloway 2.0 in West Midlands. Doubt he'll be anywhere near as successful though. I didn't know Adrian Hughes is no longer a councillor. His venture into politics was very short lived. I wonder if the online bullying he was subjected to played a part in that Edit. On googling it appears he has not done himself any favours Is this the same Adrian Hughes (ie the tweeter) who is a currently suspended Labour councillor in Dudley?

Foreign policy can be an issue. This might about Israel and Palestine. There are Muslim people who support Palestinians, there are Jewish people who support Israelis. British people live here.
