Great. We get to keep elections for a complete non-entity.

I think this means we need to re-open the West Midlands PCC thread.

I think this means we need to re-open the West Midlands PCC thread.
I already used the report function to make sure the moderation team knows that needs to happen. Can't expect them to be monitoring every thread, after all.

Seems there's a Galloway 2.0 in West Midlands. Doubt he'll be anywhere near as successful though.

"Lend Gaza your vote".
Yeah, that's what people in the Midlands are really concerned about when voting for a Mayor.

Clearly, some are, and they are voters who would overwhelmingly have voted Labour previously. At least this gentleman is honest & doesn't pretend that he cares about anywhere or anyone else, as Galloway usually does.

But how dim do you need to be to vote for a Mayor based purely on their position on something that's happening thousands of miles away? Even an MP can't have much impact on that, let alone a Mayor for one region of the UK.
What would he do for the region if he won power? Just talk about Gaza all the time? Ridiculous.

I also like that he is planning to save weekly bin collections...not sure how he will do that from the mayor's office plus this presumably only applies in Birmingham. In fact everything about this leaflet makes me think he is a absolute buffoon. But given that elections are increasingly being fought via Whatsapp rather than traditional campaigning and he already has a following on social media platforms he may pull a few votes. My initial reaction is that these will be 'extra' voters that wouldn't have bothered voting otherwise meaning impact on the big two will be limited in a FTTP election.

No you go on. If elections are being increasingly fought via WhatsApp, it’s completely passed me by.

His venture into politics was very short lived. I wonder if the online bullying he was subjected to played a part in that Edit. On googling it appears he has not done himself any favours

Whether or not he can have any serious impact surely depends on whether or not he has any significant support from "community leaders".

Mass immigration has ensured this is our politics now. People who have little connection with these islands, are far more concerned with their own homelands and many will vote accordingly.

With respect, Palestine or Gaza is the "homeland" of very few of our immigrants and their descendants.

Indeed, but I don't think Zionism is relevent in the West Midlands.

Whatever the merits of being so, why are *you* allowed to be so concerned with foreign policy, but not a British Pakistani in Bordesley? Hmm Also, the council ward I live in is just over 50% Muslim. When our branch knocks doors do you hear about Gaza- yes. But not just from Muslims.. And from everybody do you hear the same issues of inflation, rubbish on the street, school places, congestion and clean air zones, and a general distaste for the current government, that you get in Tamworth or Northfield - yes. Take off the great replacement tin foil.
