I will be in this council area in a fortnight attending an English Civil War event at Basing House, just outside Basingstoke and will be happy to relate anything that I believe gives an idea about these elections

I see Harry as probably being on the side of the King's forces.

I see Harry as probably being on the side of the King's forces. That's precisely correct. I shall be Henry Cardigan, the former member of Parliament for the county of Cardiganshire, who in 1625 in order to serve His Majesty's wishes allowed himself to be declared dead in order to enter France under an assumed name to become a member of the King's Royal Guard to ensure the safety of the Queen of France and the Duke of Buckingham, who following his assassination in 1628 was released from his bans and now in 1645 is back in England, explaining his presence as his twin brother, as a clerk to the Marquess of Winchester's regiment.

I enjoyed Jessie Childs' recent book on the siege - "The Siege of Loyalty House ". Came out in pb earlier this year, thought it was very good

First at a principal authority level, I believe, they've won a couple of contested town council elections before.

Looks to be a local campaigner who built up over time, she got a decent showing in 2022 then very nearly won the ward last year: Hatch Warren and Beggarwood (2023) Dan Putty C 1000 39.8% Stacy Hart WEP 925 36.8% David Bell Lab 444 17.7% Hannah Cooper LD 144 5.7%

I suppose a gain isn't that surprising considering how close they were last time, but that's quite a margin.

I could never vote for a 'Stacy'!

Lost count of the number of socially conservative older people, Brexit voters who quite like Farage in fact, have told me that they vote Green in Norwich because they are the only ones to ever show their faces in their ward.
