Thought it might be something like that, but isn't this what (one off) boundary revisions are for? It ought to be, but is there any way at the moment of sorting out things like that without doing a full review? It's not like there aren't lots of similar examples, including cases where a council boundary carves through a new development. (And when they fix the ward boundary when Sheffield is next reviewed it'll still be a constituency boundary until the next review for that...) Which is why I recommended the constituency boundary depart from the ward boundary at that point, and adjust the polling district boundary. It would just move that little bit between two polling districts in Richmond ward, and would allow easier ward adjustments in future: While we've got the BC to drop their obsession with ward boundaries, they have just substituted an obsession with polling district boundaries - which is such a nonsense as they are so much more fluid, and can potentially change multiple times a year.

That boundary proposal looks like someone was trying to draw a poodle?

Just going out to make our postal votes for Mayoral (SDP) and Beauchief and Greenhill (Conservative). There were no UKIP, Reform or allied parties available so I did it on which candidate do you least dislike basis.

It's really about LibDem or Labour for the council - the Tories third, then Green, then either Heritage or TUSC. Mayoral, Labour to win, the SDP last.

I dislike the Labour candidate and would never vote LD under any circumstances. TUSC is totally out of my frame and know nothing at all about Heritage. I assume it is not the political wing of National Trust? The Conservative is OK but won't win. I don't actually care very much who wins the ward, the city or the GE.

I don't like tactical voting and only indulged in it in Scotland to try and defeat Kennedy. Even then I rather despised the action even if it was in a very good cause.

I regret I don't know anything them or the candidate. They are a UKIP splinter led by former London Assembly member David Kurten, so I thought they might be at least somewhat to your taste, or at least more to your taste than to mine. (Not that they are standing in my ward.) I know nothing about the candidate.

Possibly a mistake on my part, but it doesn't matter as they won't win, anymore than any of those other would have done, or indeed the Conservative.

I note from his twitter that Lib Dem councillor for East Ecclesfield, Rob Reiss (elected last year) ended the day in Crookes & Crosspool. Presumably an indication of where the Lib Dems data had things closest.

It's the only seat I couldn't call this year, I reckon all the others will elect as they did last year.

Based on what has been happening elsewhere I think it is likely that the Greens will hold their seat in Nether Edge & Sharrow, but we will see.

It's possible, my impression has been low Green activity, but I have been over the Walkley side more, so it may be a false one as I know they are being more target centric this year.

Lab hold Burngreave. Decent performances by the Greens and the Independent, but not close.
