It's no great surprise after they didn't contest any seats last year, but I note that the Barnsley Independent Group has deregistered.

Just looking at some of last years election results here and I was pleasantly surprised to see the Labour vote still strong in places like Cudworth, Grimethorpe, Thurnscoe etc exceeding 70% of the vote. Even long after all the miners have presumably died now. And after a good few years of Labour under performance in Barnsley and such nearby places.

44,967 votes cast, a turnout of 24.1%. Of those, the majority (24,129, 53.6%) were postal votes.
The overall turnout this year has dipped by 0.58% from last year, when 45,568 votes were cast.
A slightly higher proportion of people voted in person this year compared to 2023, when postal votes accounted for 57.8% of the total.

And in one of Reform UK's highest potential areas (remember that Barnsley Central and Barnsley East delivered the best Brexit Party results in 2019), Reform UK did not even come close to winning a seat-in fact in Darton West they came 3rd behind the Green Party!
