It probably wouldn’t be the worst thing for Plaid to get back to ‘normality’ and to try and get their house in order tbf. On the other hand, if the fundamental problem is that the party is dominated by a series of overlapping cliques with rather toxic attitudes towards certain things... I can think of 3 or more UK political parties with exactly the same internal problems.....

Questions are being asked about the current leader of the conservative group in the Senedd, Andrew R T Davies (The Welsh Tories have never quite worked out who should be party leader in Wales, The Secretary of State for Wales (or shadow when in opposition), the chairman of the Welsh voluntary party or the Leader of the group in the Senedd_. While being derided by the opposition is not generally a sign of impeding departure, in this case people are not so sure. If he goes who would succeed him and if so when?

Are you suggesting that both the leader of the Welsh Government (willingly) and the leader of the Welsh Opposition (unwillingly) could be changed by the end of next year?

Drakeford has said as much himself, I don't know the exact timing but I presume he will want to give his successor a bit of time before the next election (in 2026)

Seeing as he came back after the idiotic May government in London forced him out for being correct about the company formerly known as Messerschmitt, I don't see why there'd be any appetite for a leadership contest. It's only Lib-Dem-leaning idiots from Maidenhead who'd even suggest it.

The problem at the moment seems that he totally failed to make an impression in the last 3 years since he was returned to leadership.

That is largely true, though I suspect the few conservatives that are left in the shape of the David Melding wing are probably sobbing into their beers everytime he tweets.

Welsh Conservative vote must be at its floor now - supported only by shouty anti-everything gammons and UK Conservative loyalists.

And he's off, new leader by Easter.
Technically he'll resign in 2024 which was always his plan IIRC.
New leader by the GE.
