The Kensington Metropolitan Borough Council elections in 1903 included the following result in Norland Ward.
No. 3 - Norland (6) F. Squire Eco 935 51.6 F. Urquhart Eco 929 A. Langman Eco 900 J. Brooke-Little Eco 857 W. Hamill Eco 828 E. Woolf Eco 812 E. Jones Prog 592 J. Acrell Prog 532 J. Ahern Prog 521 W. Widden Prog 511 R. Holding Prog 498 W.Price Prog 478 W. Barrett Lab 286 J. Byrne Lab 264 T. Robinson Lab 250
Does anyone know what these ‘Eco’ candidates were about, please, and why they got elected? They appear to have replaced the Moderate candidates, but only in this ward.
