I almost mentioned Birmingham because I did some campaigning there in the late 60s with Dennis and Harold Minnis, and Paul (forgotten his surname) whose heartland was Aston. Paul Tilsley? Still a councillor.

Thanks. I was there in, I think, 1969 and he was well dug in then, so he must be one of the longest serving councillors in the country (though maybe not continuous service).

Not quite as a city councillor, though IIRC he was a West Midlands county councillor when not a city councillor. Now a councillor for Sheldon alongside woollyliberal.

He had 2 years on the county but not the city and 2 years on neither but has been a Councillor again since 88. I've represented the same ward as him for 4 months.
