It seems, noBody has followed the elections few days ago? The races turned out as extremely close (also the decisive one for the president) and the counting is KAFKAesque: The EC published only screenShots of the precinctResults and journalists summed them up, for example here: elections.nation.africaBut without all precincts being taken into account. Now the EC releases slowly the results per constituency, presently they are at 253/291. Doubtlessly fraudAccusations will emerge after all this, at least, if Ruto will finally lose (what looks not so likely at the moment). How do the 2 main candidates differ? Amusingly Odinga as 2017's counterPart of president Kenyatta jr. stands for continuity - what includes the government's reForms -, while Ruto leads a left&right-coalition opposing them - despite being nominally the VicePresident...

I agree, but: 1.it is pretty widely recognized that Odinga lost in 07 because of widespread fraud (as such, he probably knows that he had 1 election stolen from him). 2.Fujimori should be thankful that she was even in the position to win in the 2nd round, because she would have lost handily to any other candidate.

Odinga has rejected the result. Something like 4/7 of the Electoral Commission refused to sign off the result the chair declared. www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-62559899I have a bad feeling about this. Forty years ago I was in Nairobi at the start of the month.
