That’s clearly the Tories best, or least bad, week since the main May elections
In Rother their candidate was more local than the Lib Dem, which presumably was a factor, as that is the type of contest in a straight fight with the Lib Dems or Greens that has been going particularly badly for them recently.

Wyre Forest was still a swing to Labour since the last byelection just 6 months ago, though.
Labour can certainly be happy with their two holds as well - and the Sunderland result is further evidence they may be over the worst there.
