No, it's a smear adopted to undermine anyone who opposes the EU, identity politics, censorship etc. It's been adopted by the Left because they know it suggests any liberals or conservatives are Nazis. In other words, anyone who disagrees with them Beneath contempt I think I know what I mean when I use words and the answer proves you have not read a single word I wrote. Then, again, noting surprising given you're unpatriotic and maybe on the Russian payroll. Grow up and get educated. My point was about the left-wing tendency to instantly leap to abuse and lies. You've made my point perfectly

Interestingly Homewood isn't the Conservative agent this time.

Far right doesn't mean fascist. It means "more to the right than the mainstream right (i.e. Conservatives). Would you claim calling TUSC far-left is a smear because they don't support gulags? No, it's a smear adopted to undermine anyone who opposes the EU, identity politics, censorship etc. It's been adopted by the Left because they know it suggests any liberals or conservatives are Nazis. In other words, anyone who disagrees with them Beneath contempt you complain of a smear then smear the entire left. Not all left-wingers misuse terminology.

Does Jayda Fransen not at the very least get around to having some sort of notional party? Now IMHO she actually is far right. Although if this distinction that "operates within the democratic framework is held to, then even she is not far-right but it won't stop some retarded morons calling Priti Patel far right. Or me for that matter. Exactly why the term far-right should only be used sparingly for people who it actually applies to. Cry wolf about these things too much and reasonable people will ignore you when you're trying to warn them about an actual far-right politician who might gain support.

Incidentally, the BBC use it a lot. Has anyone written to ask them for their definition? I have...they don't actually have one. Very convenient

Conservatives seeking to cast a protest vote but unwilling to vote for a major opposition party are certainly spoiled for choice here.

Jayda Fransen, most likely. Or Akef Akbar. Who is he/she? Where does he/she live? Anonymous independent candidates who have little or no distinctive outstanding policy (or policy difference) often tend to get squeezed between other minor parties and candidates, particularly if they are not already well-known as a personality in the area.

Councillor for Wakefield East, elected in 2021 as a Tory but left the party earlier this year. He got a very, very good result in a ward that was safely Labour before and after 2021. Case in point, there was a 45% Labour majority in 2018, and a 53% Labour majority in 2022, yet he won as the Conservative candidate by 1% in 2021.

I suspect Akef will pile up a reasonable number (600) in Wakefield East but do nothing elsewhere. A bit of an odd move for him to stand in this contest, unless it is one final favour to the Wakefield Conservatives.

Very convenient I don'tthink you have the absolute right to decide which terminology is right or wrong. No-one has 'the absolute right' to determine anything. It can only be openly debated in good faith The Left's use of the 'far right' smear is an attempt to prevent that debate... it's an attempt to delegitimise ideas they simply don't like. It has become very noticeable in recent years how, in debate, large elements of the Left immediately reach for abuse such as 'racist', 'far right' etc to suggest their opponents are Nazis, bigots etc. Beneath contempt

For a ridiculous length of time, I've been reading updates on this seat thinking: "Man, the guy from Radio 1 back in the day sure is opinionated about Wakefield". Goodair, not Goodier.
