In regards to Redhill, the outgoing Councillor sounds like a "character" even by ex UKIP standards. And I note from twitter that Munira Wilson has been to Redhill which would suggest that we are taking it seriously From 0 councillors in 2015, we now have 12. Clearly we're doing something right. The most we have ever had before was 8 in 1982, those would have been Liberal/SDP Alliance candidates elected in the wake of the formation of the SDP and the Alliance.
Redhill seems to be centred on North Hylton, to the north of the River Wear, and not adjacent to any of our existing wards. But it's interesting to note that it's the wards around the traditional city centre that seem to have turned most against Labour, either by voting Lib Dem or Tory. Labour is now (mostly) holding on to Washington and Houghton, if those start falling then they're in real trouble. Redhill is in the Washington and Sunderland West constituency.
UKIP last won seats in 2019, if they're still defending them next year that will probably be the end for them, but Redhill was one of those so that's one down already.

I think there is only one UKIP councillor left - this one has resigned and another joined the Tories

There is an error on the coloured map of the wards in Birmingham Erdington with Castle Vale being represented as Labour held rather than Conservative

The Birmingham Erdington write-up is one of the most interesting things I've read for ages. Thanks Andrew.

I though Neroche had Lib Dem potential. They had the more local candidate, and the resigning Conservative had a big personal vote.
Couldn’t quite bring myself to predict an LD gain. If, like here, the Lib Dems can squeeze Lab and the Greens to nothing in May they will win control of Somerset.
