I assume from the identical font that the Israeli electoral services print the slips rather than the candidates, as in France?

In France self-printed ballots can be refused as there are rules on the size and the weight of the paper, as well as the text, the colour, the images etc...
Although we don't often bring a balance to weigh each ballot...
In France we also have for local government (villages with fewer than 1 000 inhabitants) the possibility to strike or add names (but only those who declared themselves candidates can receive actual votes), or use two lists of names, striking at least half, as we cannot vote for more candidates than there are seats (but we can vote for candidates from different lists or candidates without lists)
That's what we call "panachage". It used to be the case for all municipal councils under 2500 inhabitants but they decided to change it to have more opposition councillors elected (which was a very bad idea as in those small villages the councillors' and deputy mayors' involvement is sometimes more important than the public servants' hours; having opposition councillors meant having more dead weight for the village as they don't participate as much)

Further to the above: I was looking through some files for a former colleague from Gibraltar who now works in Malta. Dean Hili is on the board of the Malta Gaming Authority and chairs the Audit Committee.
