I struggle to see any scenario where this was ever a likely scenario stopping short of 95% of the Parliamentary Conservative Party being wiped out in a freak accident.
Does Gyimah have the record of the shortest period of standing for the leadership of a mainstream Party and leaving said Party? I appreciate this happened in UKIP frequently but not really counting them.

The idea of this monumental twerp leading the Conservative Party is utterly absurd. Fortunately in 2019 the good people of East Surrey seem to have ended their 45 year wait for a sound MP.

One of the less likely counterfactuals on here recently, roughly on a par with Liz Kendall winning Labour's contest in 2015.
And in the almost vanishingly unlikely event of either thing happening, I doubt that they would have ended well.
