It is said that voting fraud can be found at all levels of the political process, and while digitisation can remove human "error" while counting (https://www.londonelects.org.uk/im-voter/election-results/results-2021) the very difficult challenge will be on the doorstep.
I recall someone mentioning that in some constituencies that postal votes are demanded on the doorstep from stern looking men, unsealed, to check to see how the voter cast their vote.
The digital equivalent would be the same, given that a historian record would be available.
Has anybody fallen vicim to this, or witnessed it ?
While votes from a smart-device can be cast, with system to cut out the middle-man, what about the vote cast ?

There are those stories, that making a PhotoGraphy of the filled-out BallotPaper in the PollingStation is demanded in Russia or SouthItaly.
In my Austria it was filmed, how a mosque had ordered hundreds of PostalVotes and filled them out "correctly" (=PreferenceVotes for a Turkish candidate, who received more votes than the mayor!). The worshippers only had to sign them.

The things is, if voting via a secure digital method, from anywhere, can this ever be stamped out ?

Well, for them they voted "correctly": Yes, for a secular party like SPÖ, but most were probably too uninterested in austrian politics for knowing that; and their main vote was for another muslim. Even from a legal point nearly everything was correct, if i remember correctly: The mosque's staff had collected requests for PV, received the permissions to fill the papers out via the signature of the eligible voters post festum aso. Not reached was only the requirement for a secret vote by the voter himself, but if their WorShippers had made the cross themselves and secretly, it would have been allright. |

Voter intimidation can come from unreligious sources as well, take for example unions. They have a reputation for thuggery, perhaps if God was removed from the equation, there would be a digital solution to compensate for immediate harassment ?
