It goes to show that when Parliament is desperate to do something, they will do it. Anna Mikhailova, the Deputy Political Editor of the Mail on Sunday, is reporting that the Commons may table a Motion of Expulsion for the honourable member for Delyn, Rob Roberts, which Matt Singh believes will confirm a Delyn by-election one way or the other

At the risk of sounding like Mr Boothroyd, this is still just speculation and should go in the rumours/ramping thread. If he actually resigns/is recalled/is expelled then a by-election thread can be created.

I agree, threads on by elections shouldn't be started without a formal confirmation. |

Seat where Lab + LD is bigger than Tory + BXP. Considering circumstances of by election, strength of Welsh Labour following Senned elections, size of majority. Though gaining this seat is no sign of a party near government but should take pressure off Starmer or just prove Welsh Labour are better than him. Labour should walk this anyway.

I was going to leave it open, closing it only if the current attempt to expel Rob Roberts peters out, but seeing as there hasn't been much movement on this front I might as well lock this thread for the time being. It can be re-opened should Roberts actually get the boot. |
