Is that going to apply to both West Bank and Gaza?

There are growing rumours the elections will be 'delayed'. Rumours have it that, obstensibly, it will be claimed that it's because of Israel's reluctance to have a few thousand Palestinians vote in Jerusalem. In actuality, it will be because Abbas fears heavy losses.

I'm sure it won't stop the hard left from describing Abbas as democratically-elected, 16 years into a four-year term.

The South Africans used to arrange elections for their Bantustans in their apartheid state too.

The elections have now been delayed indefinitely. Again, the purported cause is because of the few thousand East Jerusalites not being able to vote in EJ, whereas it's actually because he's a autocratic klepto who fears losses.

It would be very bad for Palestine if Haniyeh won. Most Western countries will be unable to meet with him. Barghouti would be a big improvement on Abbas.

An opinion poll published on the fourth, shows support for Hamas almost doubling in Palastine. That's the death nail for any autonomy in Gaza and for any future elections in the West Bank
