Quite so Vicar!
Poor form and all that.
More gin with you tea?
Well, I don't want to be paying his expenses and allowance. You live in Sefton, don't you?

Yeah! Yeah!!
The stark truth is Mike that many that do attend are probably as much use as he is. Never confuse 'presence' with utility or output.

Not denying that, but he should have stood down - no excuse, really Actually, he is a typical member of the Councillor Party, and if he lived in Maidenhead, he'd be a Conservative councillor

You are getting disturbingly serious in your old age Mike!
Most things don't matter much and the rest doesn't matter at all.

John Clark, Liberal Party councillor for Cropton, Ryedale DC, passed away last Wednesday. Term ends 2023 www.gazetteherald.co.uk/news/19512805.tributes-paid-district-former-county-councillor-john-clark/Also erstwhile Liberal candidate for parliamentary elections in Ryedale/Thirsk & Malton 2005-17 and county councillor for Pickering Division 2009-17. "unconventional in both his appearance and his approach to politics" - from my own personal experience I can endorse that comment wholeheartedly.

I don't know about his political approach, but if the photo is at all representative, his appearance is absolutely what I would expect a senior Liberal councillor to look like, so absolutely within the convention.

Good point. Conventionally unconventional. A bit like that hour in ghastly holiday schedules - “planned spontaneity”. He’s actually rather uncharacteristically tidy there - this is more like it here That said, I never saw John in sandals. He was a farmer just across the river from me so he was generally in sturdy boots whenever I came across him on my walks. But I’m sure he must have indulged.
