I'm sure for many on these boards, the name of that city conjures up images of test cricket being played, rather than ballot boxes being emptied.

These are local elections being held in multiple phases. As has been the case in Bangladesh, these are probably not going to be fully real elections and one should expect substantial rigging in favour of the Awami League. Let’s see how long this will go on.

The General Election took place toDay.
Surprisingly even media of the country report quasi noThing (BNP boycotted them once again).
En.wikipedia has 19% counted with AL at 45/300 and JP(E) at 4 MPs.
