Right, I've now written up a plan for the entire UK. I stress this is my preferred plan given current rules; it's not an attempt to second-guess what the various Boundary Commissions will do.
A few stats:
Ward splits: Five, all in Scotland. Two of these seem completely unavoidable, one in Edinburgh because of huge wards and one in Highland because of the 13000 sq km limit. The other three could theoretically be avoided but only at the cost of very awkward seats.
Seats extending into three top-tier authorities: Zero, compared with at least two in the current map (Windsor and DCT). There may be more in NI but I haven't checked.
Seats extending into four lower-tier authorities: Zero, compared with two (Arundel and C Devon) in the current map.
Seats unchanged (except (where applicable) for ward realignment): 83. In addition, there were several current seats that are within range and could theoretically have been left unchanged, but at the cost of a less satisfactory map overall.
I'll try to post maps and numbers on each regional thread when time permits, but meanwhile here are my 79 groups (or sub-regions) across the UK.
