2 mayors were elected 2 days ago.
The 1 in NorthMitrovica had only 1 candidate (89%), quasi handpicked by Belgrade.
The other one was more interesting: In Podujeve/Podujevo, held by LDK for 20 years, VeteVendosje/VV was victorious after being ousted from federal government by LDK last spring. The left-nationalistic* VV ad portas will let the "(mid)right" PDK&LDK-cabinet even more clinch onto power in a period, when president Thaci (PDK) had to step down due to the trial for WarCrimes.
*VV moderated itself during its rule for few months to a more normal-left party, but that was probably mainly for appeasing foreign observers.
