Much weaker on Batley and Spen, I thought. Both the candidate selection for Labour and Galloway's intervention needed more attention and I think means it's not quite as easy to make more general conclusions about.

Just read the Lloyd on 1880. Would have liked a bit more on the actual elections and results

Does anyone know when Tim Shipman's third book is supposed to come out? All Out War and Fallout were pretty interesting. Unfortunately I saw that he's still only going to cover up to the end of May's premiership.

Would anyone like a copy of 'British General Elections since 1945' (Butler; Second edition, 1995; paperback)? One's been withdrawn from the college library where I work, and if there's anywhere I could find a home for it, it would be on here! It'll cost you postage, but otherwise free.

The name of Byron Criddle, who sadly died last year, may be familiar to you.
His estate has donated his books to Housmans, who are selling them on Thu 24 Feb. Please follow the link if interested.

Slightly surprised to see his library donated to the Tankie bookshop, though their secondhand section in the basement always has obscure stuff of interest.
(At least it wasn't Bookmarks)
