Jim Cunningham, you mean. Jim Fitzpatrick was MP for Poplar & Canning Town then Poplar & Limehouse (both retired last year). Actually, he means Zarah Sultana He was talking about the MPs then rather than the MPs now.If he were talking about the latter, he would mean Chris Clarkson in the case of Heywood & Middleton and Chris Green in the case of Bolton West, Christian Wakeford in the case of Bury South, and Taiwo Owatemi in the case of Coventry North West.

Indeed most of your constituencies have never been represented by a Labour MP, though Stratford did briefly through defection. The only constituency you have lived in which has elected a Labour MP is Ceredigion and he was defeated just a few months before (presumably) you were born

A conservative who has always lived in labour areas, one of which is now a conservative area.

Interesting that you mention that, because had Liverpool Wavertree existed in the 1980s it would not have been Labour until 1992 in all likelihood. The pre-1983 version of Liverpool Wavertree elected no Labour MPs apart from in a 1935 by-election. Much of the old Liverpool Wavertree went into Liverpool Broadgreen, which would have elected a Conservative MP upon its creation in 1983 had the local Liberal association not refused to support SDP MP Dick Crawshaw; their intervention allowed Terry Fields of Militant infamy to sneak through the middle for Labour that year.

Had it not been for the Edge Hill by-election in 1979, the Mossley Hill constituency might have been Tory in 1983 before being lost in a large pro-Labour swing in 1987.

It would have been given that it was the most middle class constituency in Liverpool when it existed (1983-97). Conservative voters voted tactically for David Alton (who was socially conservative for a Liberal/Liberal Democrat MP) to keep Labour out, and back when Liverpool Mossley Hill was created in 1983 Labour finished third.

Let's just say that if I were married to her, I would completely understand the appeal of propositioning young men on Clapham Common.

Belfast North: John Finucane (Sinn FΓ©in) Stoke-on-Trent central: Jo Gideon (Conservative) Uxbridge and South Ruislip: Boris (Conservative) Ealing North: James Murray (Labour) Harrow West: Gareth Thomas (Labour)
Uxbridge is the only one that hasn't changed hands in my lifetime. I lived in South Antrim as well, but that's been moved into North Belfast.

Those holiday homes were owned by us between 1985 and 2016 and were in the Warwickshire North and Nuneaton constituencies (indeed I was able to speak to both Labour MP's from the constituencies during their tenure and even wished Bill Olner, when he announced his retirement from the House in 2007, a happy and long retirement).
