I don't know if this has been posted on here before but in the 1992 General Election the number of seats increased by 1 from 650 to 651. Notionally therefore the 1987 results on 1992 boundaries would have increased the Cons majority by 1 - Con 377, Lab 229, All 22. This was caused by Milton Keynes gaining a seat. The numbers for the new seats in 1987 would have been:
Buckingham Con 25164; Lab 4881; Lib/SDP 10949
MK NE Con 20795; Lab 6833; Lib/SDP 14417; Oth 810
MK SW Con 21599; Lab 13450; Lib/SDP 9965

This topic has indeed cropped up before. Colin Rallings sent me this a few years back.

I have a copy of ITN's guide to the 1992 election which includes notional percentages for the two new Milton Keynes seats although not actual vote totals.
