Trevor Nicholls was a UKIP candidate in another ward in 2016, 2015 and 2014.
Current Council: Lab 42; LD 11; Ind 3; Con 1; 1 vacancy

LDs second largest party on the council and they can't find a candidate here? Independent a LD in all but name, or SNAFU with the nomination paper? Doubtful, I think we just haven't done well in this ward recently. I was going to say ever, but going back to about 2008 we did a lot better, albeit not coming close to winning. It's been a Labour stronghold for a long time.

Even some Lib Dems can get tired of constant elections eventually! The southern half of Warrington a sea of yellow; the northern half a sea of red. This is in the north. The one exception seems to be Westbrook - with a popular councillor holding a tranche of relatively plush suburbs. Also, it'd be remiss of me not to point out that we're still hanging on in the depths of Lymm.
