Northern Ireland is also quite something with the anti-SF gerrymanderer (and pro SDLP one, which manage to split Derry in two and create two SDLP seats in that area). Their Strangford / Ards Peninsula seat there isn't even contiguous so you wouldn't even get away with it as a gerrymander.

Anyone mentioned the Mebyon Kernow pitchforks yet? So far as I can make out, there are no fewer than three Devonwall constituencies, one of them (a Wadebridge and Launceston one, extending across the Tamar into Devon just north of Launceston) divided into two disconnected parts - apparently, Tintagel ward has a small exclave, and one of the two parts connects to the main part of the ward while the other part connects to the exclave. (The two parts are separated by a very narrow connection between the two halves of the Bodmin and Bideford constituency). Edit: I see that kevinlarkin has already mentioned the Saltash and Plymouth North constituency.

I am absolutely in awe of the Sheppey Contortion which really must be a better name that Sittingbourne West, Sheerness and the Hundred of Hoo. To have a constituency with two parts which are only accessible by travelling through two other parliamentary constituencies is grotesque perfection.

Good god, what have they done to Whitby & The Esk Valley? They've taken the Esk Valley out of the Esk Valley.

That split of Herefordshire is certainly novel. I would never have thought of splitting both Hereford and Leominster.

A number of these appear to be contiguous only by boat: Bebington and Speke The two constituencies that include parts of Sittingbourne Poole Harbour North Ferriby and (most of) Scunthorpe Saltash and Plymouth North Helensburgh and Port Glasgow A boundary drawing algorithm is only likely to come up with sensible plans if each pairing of adjacent wards is given a score based on the strength of links (physical, administrative and community) between the two. Torbay is a thing of beauty. It would be too conventional to land the boat from Brixham in Torquay Harbour; let's try Meadfoot Beach instead!

Splitting the town of Weston Super Mare between 3 seats is a good effort too.

It appears that the algorithm has a predisposition to leave any entire district that fits within quota alone, and as many of us will know that often leads to much worse knock-on effects elsewhere.

The computer is currently being destroyed by a pitchfork wielding army from the Wirral. Mersey Banks is back

Lancaster & Fleetwood says "Hi". Never mind "Severn Banks" aka The Forest of Dean and Berkeley. I noted that and was too shocked to think of a response! Although it does unite all the areas that people round here make six-fingered jokes about

Lancaster & Fleetwood says "Hi". Never mind "Severn Banks" aka The Forest of Dean and Berkeley. I'm not sure what's worse - that or "Tees Banks" including Redcar and Billingham.

The Humber seats are certainly fun. Barton, Hessle and Immingham. Just what the world has been waiting for.
Other joys: Clitheroe and Poulton Oxford North and Buckingham South Abingdon and Bicester Corby and Rutland Chelmsford doughnut

Saffron Walden and Sandy is a joy to behold. St Neots West, St Ives and Ely North is even worse.

Given what it's like generally, the fact that it's solution for Lancaster is actually more sensible than the current boundaries is slightly disturbing
