Looks like the "activation" of this thread will be delayed at least slightly.

people would be happier, people would be financially better off, we could've actually concentrated on helping people, we wouldn't have a blithering idiot as PM, we wouldn't be an international laughing stock and we could've stopped all the EU's evil schemes from the inside. And been part of a massive trading block and benefited from the clout that brings.
Alas, we decided to be a poorer little island in the Atlantic and Trumps personal poodle.

To be fair to boogs (genuinely) lack of intelligence has never been his main failing.

If we didn't leave we would not have commemorative coins to mark the event.
unless of course we produced a load of the things in advance to mark the date of the event which never happened.

Some would say we left the EU in 2011 with the Cameron veto. For those who need to be reminded, there was an EU summit to address the Euro crisis, debt in Greece, etc. Cameron tried to force the EU to agree further deregulation of the financial sector in London as a condition for his support and threatened to veto if he did not get his way.
We have not really been part of the EU since that day.
Has the UK done well between then and now?
