I wasn't aware of this until just now, but about five months ago someone posted BBC coverage of the AV referendum results onto YouTube, in different parts. (Also taking place were local elections, devolved parliamentary elections and the Leicester South by-election.)
Had there been a Yes vote, I wonder if the House of Commons would have still been debating it three years later.

Had there been a Yes vote, I wonder if the House of Commons would have still been debating it three years later. Had the question been "Should the UK remain with First past the post or leave first past the post" with a 52% leave vote, then I'm almost certain the House of Commons would still have been arguing it three years later! Thanks for the video.

And they would arguably have been right to, given the lack of clarity in such a question.....

Although what would have probably happened (certainly has been suggested as a process) would be to say - ok, you have decided to leave first past the post, now which of these alternative systems do you want to go with. It might be an principle to run with...

It might be an principle to run with... Which isn't that far off how New Zealand ran their PR referendum(s). Though they had the "which alternative system would you most prefer" referendum before the "do you want to change the electoral system" one.
