Paul Moss, deselected Labour councillor for North Reddish on Stockport Council, has announced he is to sit as an Independent, as he wishes to oppose building on Reddish Vale Park. I used to play on Reddish Vale and am opposed to any building on it and members of my family are in support of the campaign, but Cllr Moss's reasoning is, to say the least, disingenuous, given his recent deselection. Why didn't he quit before - this issue hase been hot for a while. Saving face probably, for the reason you give! Her defection shows that she should never have been selected. As with anyone who is even remotely interested in the Labour Party good riddance (nothing personal to all the lovely socialists on here) |

How about we set up a thread for 'principled' defections. I know it won't get used much, but it won't take up much space ..... Or 'Principled' and 'Unprincipled' separate threads. See the 'Unprincipled' rack up many pages whilst the principled stays at 1 or 2 pages. The "Independent" is the former Labour councillor for Crewe West. The "Crewe West End Socialist Independent" is councillor for Crewe St. Barnabas. |

Sounds like the proximity to Stewk has persuaded them to have their own tribute act. Using Philip Davies's info, I make that 5 independents/splitters/ratepayers/chancers in Crewe & Nantwich alone. |
