In Cornwall the Conservatives have formed a joint Conservative & Independent Conservative Aligned group, with Paul Wills (St Columb Major, St Mawgan & St Wenn) Lancaster, Heysham South (2027). Philip Bradley, Labour to Independent. I think that, combined with the recent resignation, means that the Greens are now largest party instead of Labour. Windsor & Maidenhead, Oldfield (2027). Geoff Hill, tbfI - the Borough first Independents to Independent. Windsor & Maidenhead, Riverside (2027). Kashmir Singh, Liberal Democrat to Labour. This would cost the Lib Dems their majority, leaving them on 21/41. When was the last time there was a Labour cllr on that council? I think 2005, when they lost Eton Wick in a by-election. They haven't had one in Maidenhead for a while. They used to win the Oldfield ward.

Looking at LEAP, Labour had a councillor elected in 2003 in Eton Wick.

This would cost the Lib Dems their majority, leaving them on 21/41. Is 21 out of 41 not majority? It's late and I'm drinking a very passable Bergerac in Biarritz, but I think my maths is still good enough to put that at just over half...

Oh dear, I'm all over the place with my updates today - you're right, my mistake in the calculation. Obviously I was so shocked at the prospect of a Lib Dem defecting to Labour...

The Islington Independent Socialists have already renamed themselves to Islington Independents.
Dacorum, Grovehill (2027). Goverdhan Silwal, Independent (elected as Conservative) to Labour.

Unsurprisingly, Dartford's Ricky Jones has departed from the Labour group after his Walthamstow speech.

Re Windsor and Maidenhead, the Lib Dems having a majority or not does not necessarily matter since the administration contains other parties/residents' groups - including the independent councillor listed as leaving the Borough First.

Now a Labour councillor. Where next? She was also the Lib Dems West Midlands mayoral candidate in 2017. She's been on what's usually called "a journey" and it may not be over yet. Labour had better not rely too much on her undying loyalty.

You can call that mendacious little shit a friend if you want to, but I doubt if most of the forum would. Is he still a Kingston councillor despite supposedly being a resident of Birmingham, Hall Green and Moseley or has he Nuttalled his way back to Kingston.

Mrs Connolly, who has dark shoulder-length hair and was wearing a pink jumper,
BBC licence fee at its best.
