Well, we have a precedent with the Huhne case as to what the likely sentence for that is. This is probably more severe if an actual accident occurred.

All five Respect councillors in Bradford have now resigned the whip and say they will sit as independents until they receive an apology from Galloway.

... until they receive an apology from Galloway. ... which I think they can whistle for. This is shameless George we're dealing with here.

We knew it was coming! Respect councillors complain that George Galloway hardly spends any time in Bradford They did realise exactly what they were doing by electing a member of Parliament, didn't they? You elect an MP to represent you(r area) in Westminster, not to represent Westminster in your area. (My Google fu isn't giving me the original source for that quotation.)

an apology from Galloway. What are those words doing in that order in that sentence?

an apology from Galloway. What are those words doing in that order in that sentence? Perhaps it should read "an apology for George Galloway"?

Looks like a Business Class seat to me, can't quite identify the airline from it, could be Lufthansa.

no shock there, a right wing group splintering as soon as they get a sniff of power.

I did read the weekend that the former speech writer of charles kennedy did not renew LD membership and joined Labour.

Richard Grayson? He left the Lib Dems a few months back and had an article on the Guardian website today saying he'd joined Labour. Also the PPC for Hemel Hempstead in 2005 and 2010.
