Mr. John S. Cartwright (Con, Croydon, South): I would like to start by paying tribute to my predecessor, Richard Ottaway... Go on, John.

I'm wondering how long it will take for Our Esteemed Kris to get round to changing my party label...

I would be interested to know what caused John's break with Loonyism?? It's a positive reason, in the sense that I left the OMRLP because I wanted to join the Conservative Party; I didn't otherwise fall out with any of my erstwhile Loony colleagues in terms of personality clashes or anything So what are you going to do with all your Loony gear? Put it on Ebay??

On April 1st 1992 a preciouly staunch Labour-supporting friend at school told everyone that he had changed his mind and was hoping the Conservatives would win the looming election. We weren't fooled!

So what are you going to do with all your Loony gear? Put it on Ebay?? I'm the sort of person who hoards clutter rather than clears out rubbish, so I'll probably just keep it hanging up in my room. I might reshuffle and re-use some of the badges if any are particularly suitable.

Well that's another reason for us to get out of the Coalition as soon as we can reasonably do so...

Sandra Daniells (Arun DC, Orchard) and Adam Cunard (Arun DC, Bersted) have both resigned from the Conservative group on the district council because of opposition to plan to 'regenerate' Bognor Regis by building a new cinema. The two councillors (mother and son) both have business interests in the independent cinema that would be affected by such a move. They will sit as Independents on Arun, but remain Conservative on Bognor Regis Town Council.

It is a far far loonier thing he does now, than he has ever done before.

I think all those jokes were exhausted when the founder of the Raving Loony Green Giant party joined us.

I hope it says "It is not I who left the Official Monster Raving Loony Party, but the party that has left me". On the contrary. I have made it clear that I left the OMRLP because I wanted to join the Conservative Party. I have not fallen out with, or had any big disagreements with, any of my erstwhile OMRLP colleagues. As such my defection is for positive, not negative, reasons.

Independent Councillors Nick Gregory and Dave Whitingham on Fareham Borough Council have joined UKIP. FarehamApologies if these have been reported, but I couldn't see anything for the headline Loony defection news above

FarehamApologies if these have been reported, but I couldn't see anything for the headline Loony defection news aboveNick Gregory originally got elected as a Lib Dem in a by-election then defected within a few months to the Tories. He'll probably try to jump ship again soon enough...
