What's not right is that that doesn't seem to be a real membership card. The text doesn't curve in line with how the yellow sheet of paper is curving at the edge; it's almost as if someone has edited the photo by superimposing the text onto the image. And the card is being held at a slight angle, whereas the text on the card is completely horizontal!

Slightly tangential, the Conservative candidate in the Swindon ward of Walcot & Park North is a former Labour councillor, if she wins she would be the 3rd councillor to be elected in the old Walcot ward as a Labour councillor & then represent Walcot as a Conservative councillor. I know there's been a boundary change, but the ward has increased but includes all of the old Walcot ward

In the Harington ward of Sefton, Alf Doran, a former Tory candidate who defected to Ukip is this year's Labour candidate in the same ward.

I'd say Alf Doran is being very brave. It's a strong Conservative ward, and he could easily have been found a more winnable ward elsewhere, but he's not doing the chicken run.
EDIT: Hold on, I may have confused him with Tony Crabtree, who I see has decided not to seek re-election in Cambridge ward.

In the Harington ward of Sefton, Alf Doran, a former Tory candidate who defected to Ukip is this year's Labour candidate in the same ward. Thought he would have stayed with UKIP, but obviously not. That last switch is odd, to say the least. He might boost the labour vote in that ward a bit though. He gave the UKIP vote a massive boost in 2012, and the UKIP vote slipped quite a bit in 2014 when he didn't stand.

Robert Long, elected as a Tory for Tolleshunt D'Arcy on Maldon DC in 2011, is restanding as an independent after a nasty deselection fight.

Rushmoor Borough Council. Steve Smith is standing for the Tories in West Heath ward, Farnborugh. He represented West Heath ward as a Tory until 2011 when he and a colleague defected to UKIP. He was re-elected as a UKIP councillor in 2012, West Heath elected three UKIP members in 2012. A year later he became an Independent before joining the Labour Group in 2013 before retiring in 2014. He is now back with the Tories.
Tory-UKIP-Independent-Labour-Tory all in four years!

Why do I get the feeling you're not enamoured by this selection? I am a bit surprised to be honest. I have sat on a charity board with him and he is a decent and sensible man who always struck me as a moderate Tory, so I was more surprised when he stood for Ukip. I wonder why he didn't come straight to us? He certainly has a significant personal vote - he nearly held it for Ukip and its really not Ukip territory at all.

Not a defection...
But Cllr Nick Mattey for Beddington North has been suspended by the Liberal Democrat group on Sutton Council, after going public with his opposition to the Incinerator planned to be built in his ward.

Andrew Duffield rejoins the Liberal Democrats from Labour.
--
A Parliamentary candidate who hit national headlines when he switched sides in 2013, has re-joined his old party – firing a big broadside at the Labour party he leaves in the process. Andrew Duffield, Liberal Democrat candidate for Hexham at the last 2 General Elections, highlighted what he termed: "Labour's appalling attempt to associate migrant deaths in the Mediterranean with British action against Colonel Gadhafi in 2011" as the final straw. In a letter to the current Lib Dem candidates in Hexham and in Berwick-upon-Tweed, the constituency where he now lives, Mr Duffield also said that Labour's 2015 manifesto and election campaign totally lacked the dynamism, direction or detail needed for real change: "To say I am disappointed with Labour would be a gross understatement. Policies like rent caps that try to manipulate markets have failed before and are an out-dated blast from the socialist past rather than a credible plan for government. Even the half-decent ideas that Labour does have – like a Mansion Tax – have been pirated from the Liberal Democrats!" Mr Duffield, an ex-Royal Navy officer and Northumberland County Councillor, continued: "I have many misgivings about the last 5 years of coalition government but it is clear that, with Lib Dems steadying the ship and steering the Tories towards tax cuts for the low paid, Britain has ridden-out the worst of both the economic storm and Conservative austerity. "It is absolutely critical that the benefits of growth now shift significantly from rich to poor. That won't happen with a Tory 'trickle-down' mentality, or with Labour's lack of ambition. However, it is achievable with a strong Liberal Democrat presence in the next government. "In the absence of a fair electoral system, tactical voting by people who would otherwise support Labour is vital. The Conservatives can still be kept at bay in seats like Hexham and Berwick, but only if Labour-leaning voters back the Lib Dems instead. A big Lib Dem vote in Northumberland will make Labour reconsider their school transport plans, review national policies that simply won't work – and reflect on their shameful international opportunism. "For the last week of the campaign, I will be working to ensure a fair and progressive voice is heard loud and clear by whoever is in power after May 7th. That means electing Lib Dems where they are best placed to win – including in the Hexham and Berwick constituencies." ENDS

Makes you wonder why he joined labour in the first place. Apart from the fact that he is anti-tory, I can't see much of a reason there.
