The Alliance for Green Socialism are registered as a party. search.electoralcommission.org.uk/Registrations/PP67They do have "Green Socialists" registered as a ballot description, which demonstrates how inconsistently rules about confusing descriptions are applied. Green Left are/were an internal grouping within GPEW. Nowadays, it's mostly a couple of timewasters from Shahrar Ali's former party and a Facebook group. Which is Shahrar Ali's former party? Sorry, meant to say Shahrar's former local party, Brent Greens.

'Belonging to a proscribed organisation' makes it sound like they're members of the IRA or Hezbollah.

'Belonging go a proscribed organisation' makes it sound like they're members of the IRA or Hezbollah. Or a trade union?

Just out of interest, does the Labour party publish a list of what it sees as being proscribed organisations?

Yes, I think there is such a list which is overseen by the party's NEC.

it isn't currently a long list as proscriptions only restarted a few months ago after a period when there was only de facto proscription.

Ahh, my favourite bug bear. I wish all parish and town councils were non-party political, just to stop tiny political parties doing this and more importantly to stop people on tweet threads thinking it was some sort of big deal... or even little deal...

Settle Town Council appears to have had seven councillors (of eleven vacancies) returned unopposed in May. Jane Cotton appears to have stood without a party description.
Peacehaven Town Council does see party political activity. Alan Milliner stood as one of four Labour candidates in 2019 in East ward and was the only one not elected so it appears was co-opted down the line.
Alconbury Parish Council. Tom MacLennan was one of five councillors (of seven vacancies?) returned unopposed in May, all without a party description.

Alconbury in particular seems an odd place to have a councillor from the far-left, Settle too really. Peacehaven perhaps not so much these days
