What if Pete Wilson loses the 1990 gubernatorial election? Would the Republicans have won it back in 1994? Does Proposition 187 still happen?
Presumably if Wilson had run again for his Senate seat in 1994 he would've held it. How is the history of the California Republican Party change?

Presumably if Wilson had run again for his Senate seat in 1994 he would've held it. How is the history of the California Republican Party change? Chances are that Feinstein would have been a two term Governor while Wilson would have retained his Senate seat in 1994 but the Democrats would have picked up the seat in 2000. Feinstein would likely have been in shoe in for the Senate nomination in 2000 if she still wanted it. |
