Wales votes against devolution in 1997 with 50.3% against the government's proposals.
What changes politically?

Wales votes against devolution in 1997 with 50.3% against the government's proposals. What changes politically? We keep having a vote until they get the answer right?

Would we have seen a Conservative recovery in 2001?

It becomes a little harder to slap down anyone from Labour, Lib Dems or Plaid arguing there should have been a supermajority for Brexit, but not impossible as the referendum requirements are to hand.

I seem to recall before news of Carmarthenshire socking YES vote started to filter through there was talk that not only would Ron Davies resign as Welsh Secretary, but that Plaid would give serious thought to standing in border constituencies and that the Lib Dems would not stand against Labour at the next election
