I'd settle for where Labour is. The party polling numbers are pretty consistently in the mid-to-high 30s, up 5-6% from the General Election 9 months ago. Most of that gain has been the recovery of "never Corbyn" support from progressive voters, switchers to Lib Dem, Green or Welsh Nationalist, particularly pained by the things, fairly or unfairly, associated with his leadership. However latterly there have been small signs of a recovery of some Tory switchers.
Starmer has established himself as credible, if not liked, and has in the process taken some shine off Johnson (although the man has managed a lot of that for himself!).
Lying ahead are the next acts of COVID management and the inquiry into its handling. And of course the next elements of Brexit. Certainly initially, in almost any reasonable scenario, that's going to produce some anger and disappointment, at least encompassing the local elections next year. Trying to be objective about this it's hard to be bullish about Tory (and Johnson) polling numbers through 2021. However we are in more polarised times when movement between blocs may be tougher than normal. And, of course, Labour and Starmer can make big errors too. At the moment there's a lot of "straight bat" work and strategic perception correction. That requires discipline...

As I said previously, YouGov tend to be one of the Tories better pollsters.
Labour seems to have a "floor" of 37-38 points now which is modestly encouraging going forward.

Two ties in the last three polls from YouGov does suggest a definite shift.

Not sure why they didn't report the facts that the Greens are on 6% and the SNP on 5%. Looks like my cross over prediction has come true :-)

Almost a year late but saw on Twitter a YouGov crosstab which had 39% of Unite members voting Conservative in 2019 vs 42% for Labour. Does put Len’s “our members are unhappy at the Labour Party moving rightwards, they want us to fund ‘grassroots’ far left campaigns” into perspective...

If this doesn't demonstrate the limits of pure majoritarianism I don't know what will This was decided ages ago by the Courts in a case about VAT. One (cakes I think) bears VAT, the other doesn’t. Apparently the difference between cakes and biscuits is that one goes hard and the other soft when stale. They are legally biscuits.

Is she not going after the Orange vote in the West of Scotland? Don't forget the new Pineapple version. Which no-one seems to buy - if my jaffa cake experience earlier today was anything to go by. The aisle* was full of boxes of the pineapple version, but I got the last proper jaffas. * incidentally, the biscuit aisle, not the cake aisle
