Remember that the PC Premier (in a genius move that will doubtless enter legend) called this election immediately after unveiling a tough (for Alberta) budget.

Wow. There was a TV debate the other night and by all accounts the NDP leader Rachel Notley was the hands-down winner. Hopefully a good NDP result will give the federal party a much needed shot in the arm. The federal NDP aren't exactly going to do well in Alberta. The NDP could really do with a boost in Ontario or possibly BC (Quebec if they were in the race).

Owen Jones regularly mentions his xxx relation living in abc place. And infers that his own hometown is slightly moodier than the Bronx.

So today is the day.
All polls since one week are putting NDP in the 40-45% window, PC and Wildrose being tied or leading each other around 20-27%.
Three last polls, yesterday and very early today morning: EKOS: NDP 44, WR 24, PC 23 Insights West: NDP 42, WR 27, PC 23 Forum, this morning: NDP 45, WR 23, PC 23
Threehundredeight (which didn't consider this morning poll yet) has NDP 44, WR 27, PC 24 (and seats has NDP 54, WR 25, PC 7, AP 1). AP is a small centrist party fully focused on electing their leader in a Calgary riding. A riding poll shown him winning, but they poll 0-1% outside of his riding.

NDP 40.5% (53 seats) Wildrose 24.2% (20 seats) PC 27.8% (10 seats, but really 9 since Prentice already resigned) Liberals 4.2% (1 seat) Alberta Party 2.3% (1 seat) ?: 2 seats (it's an exact tie between PC and NDP in Calgary-Glenmore. There will be a recount by a judge, if still tied, the election will be called unconclusive and a by-election called for the seat. Also, Chestermere-Rocky View has a few boxes of votes to still count and it's too close between PC and WR). There is already one by-election to call in Calgary-Foothills, to replace resigning Premier, PC leader and MLA Jim Prentice.

The Most shocking thing about this election is that the polls were right this time around.

If it happens, and it's still a big if, the defeat of the Right finally after 80 years in Alberta would be absolutely hilarious, especially because the way it will have happened will be entirely self inflicted. I wanted to write something similar to that, but I can't say it in a batter than your words. So I'll just quote them.

Total political dominance collapses when you run out of people to blame.
A lesson for the SNP.
