I know that most of the seats up on Thursday were last contested four years ago and most will be contested again in four years time, but there's a fair bit of change when councils move to/from all ups and sometimes boundary changes reset the cycle.

Which year in the four year local election cycle has the most seats up for grabs and which has the lowest?

Undoubtedly the 2011/2015/2019 cycle has the most seats, as it has most of the smaller districts that have all out elections.

2013/2017/2021 has the fewest due to them being county councils and all the seats being very large.
