Brian Kemp will serve as the Chair of the Republican Governors Association for 2025. The role involves overseeing support for a governor elections, with there only being two in 2025 (Virginia and New Jersey). But they traditionally act as a fairly interesting indicator of public opinion a year after the election of a new Presidential administration thehill.com/homenews/campaign/5000768-kemp-leads-republican-governors-association/amp/

Repeal of ranked choice voting in Alaska fails by 664 votes. But Mary Peltola has lost the House AL race to Nick Begich giving the Republicans a pick up where it didn’t seem overly likely.

Trump won Alaska by 14%. Hard for Peltola to outrun Harris. A decent showing all things considered. She may run for Governor next. Senate seems a stretch.

Alaskan politics is quirky and unique it would have been interesting if they had adopted the ranking choice model like Maine. Libertarian spirit at play in the State always and the grant everyone gets based on the Oil money off the State coffers every year.
